What you'll get from attending the Academy
The aim of the Leadership Academy is to provide individuals and organisations with the knowledge to empower their leadership journey, to fuel their passion and to drive the change needed to help end homelessness in Australia.
As part of this program, you will:
- better understand your leadership style by looking at your strengths and areas for personal and professional development
- develop your potential, and that of your organisation as a vision leader in ending homelessness
- explore principles, practices and leadership models to improve your leadership approach.
- explore new models and tools for creating positive relationships with others
- be part of a supportive learning community
- create new networks and collaborations across Australia.
Since the initial Academy in 2015 in West Virginia, USA the program has worked with more than 1,100 leaders in Canada, Australia and the United States. Over 90% of attendees highly recommend the Leadership Academy and report it made a difference in their progress in reducing homelessness.
About the Leadership Academy
Founded by Iain De Jong of OrgCode Consulting in 2015, the impetus to focus on leadership development as it relates to ending homelessness was inspired by Iain’s travels throughout Canada and the United States.
From his experiences, Iain discovered that the essential ingredient that seemed to distinguish communities making progress in reducing homelessness and those that were not, was often a matter of the strength of leadership, not the technical training and skills of the workforce.
Now, in partnership with the AAEH, the Leadership Academy is returning to Australia, where over 30 communities around the country are currently working to end homelessness through the Advance to Zero framework.
