Rough Sleeping Responses to COVID-19: Preventing a Return to Homelessness – Government’s Perspective

Each state and territory government have been responding to rough sleeping during this COVID-19 pandemic differently, this forum provided a chance to hear exactly what’s been happening and to get a Commonwealth Government and local government perspective on what needs to happen next.

The forum provided the opportunity to hear the latest data on how many people experiencing rough sleeping have been sheltered in response to COVID-19.

Rough Sleeping Responses due to COVID-19 Online Forum

This event was held on Zoom Webinar on 7 April 2020.

The Australian Alliance to End Homelessness (AAEH) held an online forum focusing on Rough Sleeping Responses due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Participants heard about responses that have been implemented in communities across Australia to support people sleeping rough during this pandemic.

Key leaders from each state and territory took part in the forum identifying what actions need to be taken to better respond to this crisis.

The forum launched the 'Leaving no one Behind' AAEH's Health and Homelessness paper.
